Well...as of chapter 698, Sasuke's been redeemed...AGAIN. Even after  his most-recent backstab. And all because Naruto CAN'T STOP WHINING ABOUT IT! God, its SO annoying! No matter WHO Sasuke kills or betrays, Naruto won't stop pining after the psycho and keep whining that "He's my friend!"

Honestly!
ITS PATHETIC!  A vast part of Naruto's strength in Part 1 comes from his fixation on seizing the future and making it better than his past. Compared to that, Sasuke was weak since he refused to move forward. After Sasuke defected, Naruto stopped moving forward. All He got in the three years since then was refined basics of hand-to-hand combat and a few variants of the Rasengan. That the problem with being fixed in the past: since there's no way to go back, you stay in one place and your body's all that exists in the present. Naruto were stronger three years ago because in Part ll, he NEVER moved forward! When Sasuke left, Naruto stopped and just stood in place with his desire to rescue someone that DIDN'T WANT to be saved. It caused Naruto to stagnate, and as a result, he grew weaker.

Think about it. It took Jiraiya's DEATH to get Naruto to forget about Sasuke and start moving forward again, and that was only one person. If it took the deaths of those Naruto CLAIMED care for and seek to protect to get him to push forward again the way he did before Naruto became obsessed with getting Sasuke to return to Konoha, then I have to ask: Should Haruto have abandoned Sasuke and hone himself the way he use to? Who meant more to him? Is ONE person that, by their own choice, is beyond redemption worth the lives of everyone Naruto has come to love before he decides to go forward again? Sasuke or everyone Naruto was always out to get stronger in order to protect. THAT was his choice. And Naruto made it! Naruto chose the life of one person, a person moreover, who's tried to kill him time and again, over the lives of everyone else that he ever CLAIMED to care about. How can Naruto have anyone who gives a damn about him if he was so tunnel-visioned that Naruto threw everyone else away for someone that doesn't care if he lived or died!? Naruto threw everyone and everything away for the sake of an enemy who wants to kill them all!

But I'm not surprised...
Compared to Sasuke, the rest of Naruto's so-called "precious people" are noting but EXPENDABLE!  Its the ONLY consistent thing in the whole series!
